Located in one of the city’s fastest-growing districts, the Rainey Street trailhead project connects Lady Bird Lake’s Hike and Bike Trail to the city center, transforming an urban edge into an ecologically grounded public space.
The design restores connections to Central Texas plant communities—from upland savanna to riparian woodland and wetland—while incorporating a nature play area, diverse native plantings, and seasonal interest that creates a meaningful, sensory-rich experience for visitors.
